This is what kind of tent it is.
This Straight Wall Family Cabin Tent is precisely what the name implies: a cabin-style framework with nearly vertical walls. The tent is also extremely tall, with a peak height of 86 inches (218 cm), which is why it is on my list of tall family camping tents.
Because the tent includes a detachable divider, it is classified as a 2-room tent. Expect little privacy with this design, as the division is a curtain (see image below).
You have just one door with a window and five distinct windows. These openings have mesh and zippered panels for privacy and protection from the elements.
The tent stands independently with its six-leg poles, but stakes are provided and should be used because this tall, boxy structure is unstable in side winds. The tent includes a gear loft that attaches to the highest ceiling area, as shown below, allowing you to keep small items.

Who is it for
Capacity: The stated capacity is ten people, and they use a backpacking principle by measuring how many sleeping pads can fit on the floor. The measurements are such in the details below that this is possible if you want to feel like a sardine in a can. However, the area is only 140 ft2 (13 m2), resulting in 14 ft2 (1.3 m2) per person. This is far too small for any real family camping trip. So this is a tent for parents with a maximum of two children. It easily accommodates two queen-sized airbeds. You may boost capacity while still having plenty of space by using bunk camping cots, which fit precisely on these steep and tall walls, as shown in the image below.

Seasons and climate: Because this is a summer camping tent, it is ideal for warm weather. The ceiling is entirely made of mesh, as is the rest of the room. The partial coverage fly protects the top of the building. However, there are no floor vents, which are required if the panels must be kept closed when it rains.
With so much mesh on the ceiling, I would not camp in this tent in the cold. You better verify more enclosed designs in my separate list for such a situation. Also, avoid windy conditions because this tent is too large and boxy for such needs.
Weight-wise: The tent is heavy, and its packed size necessitates using a car for transportation; the numbers are listed in the specifications below.
Materials
The stakes and poles
The poles are steel for the legs and fiberglass for the top layer. So you have 6 + 3 for the two areas mentioned. Clips, sleeves on the roof, and pin and ring connectors on the base secure the poles to the tent.
Use the 14 steel stakes included in the package to secure the tent properly.
The fabric
The walls and the fly are made of 68D-coated polyester fabric. Although they do not provide a water-resistant rating, all reports indicate that this tent does not leak. All of the seams are bound. The floor is polyethylene, a highly waterproof material, and the bathtub is 6 inches long.
Other characteristics
- There is an electrical cord access port.
- As shown in the picture, a carry bag is included.
- Small storage pockets on the wall are insufficient.
