This Nemo Wagontop 8-Person Tent is a one-of-a-kind and remarkable tent that features two rooms, one large vestibule, aluminum poles, and highly durable fabric. Continue reading.
Key features and advantages
- Height while standing.
- Long-lasting fabric.
- The design is freestanding.
- Poles made of aluminum.
- 2 Doorways.
- 1 large vestibule.
- 2 rooms (one of which is a screen room).
What is the point of this?
This Nemo Wagontop 8P is the largest of three tents in the Wagontop series, and the model shown here is the 2020 version of the series, which has been within for a while. Compared to the Nemo 6 Tent from the previous series, this new version comes in various colors.
The primary distinction is on the floor, which has a twice as high denier value in the new version. The two versions are available on marketplaces as of the time of writing.
It is a tunnel-type tent that is also freestanding due to its entirely distinctive pole framework. Inside is a partition with a central vertical zipper, making the tent a two-room structure.
The tent has a combination of single and double walls. So one part (room) is mesh with a rain fly, while the other is a single-layer section. It is also on my list of the best screen room tents. The image below shows it with the fly rolled up to show how nice this mesh room looks.

The tent has two massive double-sized doors on both finishes and two panoramic windows with mesh and panels from the inside.
The floor plan below shows the most important dimensions and how the manufacturer recommends using the floor space. The vestibule is located in section D.

As you can see, this is a very tall tent with incredibly steep walls. The peak height is 80 inches (203 cm), and the image below depicts the inside size of the tent. So, if you need a lot of shoulder room, this is the tent for you:

Who is it for?
Capacity-wise, as you can see from the room plan above, the declared capacity is 8 people. The tent can undoubtedly account for many users, but there would be quite a crowd inside.
You have 124.9 ft2 (11.6 m2) of inner space, which equals 15.6 ft2 (1.45 m2) per person. The vestibule adds 26.9 ft2 (2.5 m2) of covered space to store your gear and footwear. However, reducing the number of users is best if you want to enjoy its comfort fully.
It’s worth noting that they have their NEMO Victory Screenhouse, which you can pitch right next to your tent and use as a dining or living room during the day.
Seasonally and climate-wise, they describe it as a 3-season tent, which is accurate. The tent will keep you dry in any weather, but I would avoid windy areas with such a large tent. Note that you are nearly 6 meters long and over 2 meters tall. In the case of side winds, this presents a significant challenge.
Weight-wise, the heavy tent weighs 30 lb 3 oz (13.7 kg). This is due to the poles’ broken ends, which allow the tent to stand independently, partly due to its strong fabric. As a result, the weight is for excellent reasons. It is also quite bulky when packed, so this is a tent for locations with easy access by car.
Materials
The polarities
This framework has three poles because they are Y-shaped (at both ends) hubbed structures. This means that there are hub components where the pole divides (one is shown in the illustration below). When they are inserted into holes, the tent becomes self-supporting.
The third pole is simply a loop in the center of the tent. All of them are shock-corded, so while the framework appears complex, it is simple to set up with a little practice. The diameters are 14.5 mm and 12.8 mm in aluminum.

The fabric
You have a powerful fabric combination here. So the canopy is 75D PeU polyester with a water-resistant rating of 1500 mm, and the floor is quite outstanding 300D PeU polyester with the same rating. I must admit that the water-resistant rating of the floor is not very high, but you won’t find many tents with such a durable fabric.
Accessories
- This tent can be used in conjunction with the Nemo Accessory Garage, as shown in the image:

- You can add a Nemo Victory Blanket for extra comfort and ground insulation. It’s worth noting that they build it in three different sizes.

- They also have a Nemo Wagontop 8 Footprint explicitly designed for this tent.
