Here is a list of the best 5-room camping tents, which are very large for family or group camping and have an impressive waterproof rating for complete weather protection.
My picks for the best five-room camping tents
The tents are listed below in order of floor area, from small to large:
All of the tents on the list are tunnel tents, which are long structures with a similar configuration of a centrally located living area with multiple windows and sleeping zones on both sides. Another characteristic they all have is an impressive water-resistant rating, indicating that these are 3-season tents for all weather conditions.
1. OLPRO Wichenford 8 Berth Family Camping Tunnel Tent

Within this tent’s shell are two inner tents. One of the inner tents has two rooms, while the other has a removable divider and can be utilized as a single or two-room tent. A large and fully protected living room is also between the two inner tents.
It has an enormous surface of 205 ft2 (19 m2). As a result, it is also on my list of extra-large family camping tents. You have a high water-resistant rating, ensuring full safeguarding in any weather. The poles are made of fiberglass. There are two doors and two windows. The weight is 61.7 pounds (28 kilograms).
2. Vango Purbeck Tent 600

This Vango Purbeck Tent 600 is a stunning 5-room framework with plenty of solid windows (6 + 2). You have four floored rooms as well as a fully enclosed floorless porch. There are two exterior doors and four interior doors.
This tunnel tent is highly water-resistant and suitable for almost all seasons. The space is enormous, with 208.6 ft2 (19.38 m2) in the floored area and 70 ft2 (6.5 m2) under the porch. As a result, it is also on my list of extra-large family camping tents. The weight is 49.6 pounds (22.5 kilograms).
3. Eurohike Buckingham 8 Classic Family Tent

This tent has a stated capacity of 8 people and covers an area of 226 ft2 (21 m2). This equals 28 ft2 (2.6 m2) per person in 5 rooms.
The tent has two sleeping units on the side, each with two rooms for two people and a central living room. It has four great panoramic PVC windows and two + one doors with three awning configurations.
There are numerous storage components and numerous vents for proper ventilation. The shell tent’s floor is also removable, and the inner tents can be removed, allowing you to use the shell tent for family events in the garden.
These inner tents can be used together or independently, giving you various alternatives based on the number of users. Given all these features, this tent is surprisingly affordable; please see my review for more information.
4. Skandika UV Protection Montana Unisex Outdoor Tunnel Tent

This tent has 5 rooms with a total floor area of 226 ft2 (21.7 m2). However, it has three inner tents, allowing you to organize the area to have one, two, three, four, or five rooms. The tent has three large doors with insect mesh, numerous vents, and an impressive waterproof rating.
The tent is also quite tall, at 78.74 inches (200 cm). It weighs 56.88 lb (25.8 kg) when packed, making it heavy and bulky. It includes a pair of poles with an awning for this reason. Because of its size, it is also included in my list of extra-large family camping tents.
5. Vango Stanford 800 XL Tent

This tent provides 227 ft2 (21.1 m2) of space for 8 people in 5 rooms, making it nearly the same size as the Eurohike Buckingham 8 Classic tent above. However, the design is quite distinct here. You have two PVC windows and two entry doors. The poles are made of fiberglass, and the floor is sewn in and sealed. The tent has a water-resistant rating of 4000 mm and is suitable for any weather situation in three-season use.
The sleeping area is designed with what is known as the lights-out design, also known as the dark rest, which means that daylight decreases and you can sleep longer in the morning. The tunnel tent is equipped with Vango’s tensioned band system (TBSII), stabilizing it longitudinally in harsh conditions. Please read my full review for more information.
6. Berghaus Air 8 Inflatable Family Tent

This tent is divided into two inner tents, each with a divider. These are the bedrooms, and a central living room has two doors. This is why it is included on the list.
It has strong windows, excellent ventilation, and plenty of room for storage. The floored area is enormous: 242 ft2 (22.5 m2), with 9.9 square meters dedicated to the living room. As a result, it is also on my list of extra-large family camping tents.
The tent is supported by air beams, a total of five of them. This is why it is so simple to set up. It’s on my list of the best inflatable tents. The weight is 66.1 pounds (30 kilograms).
7. Eurohike Buckingham Elite 8

This Buckingham Elite 8 tent is the largest on the list, with a floor area of 249 ft2 (23.1 m2) and 31 ft2 (2.9 m2) per person. The outermost layer of the tent has a water-resistant rating of 3000 mm, so you should be completely secure no matter where you camp. The floor is completely sewn in and closed as well.
There are two entrance doors, one with a brief hood, as seen in the picture, and the other with an awning configuration, and the poles for this purpose are included with the tent. Because the windows are made of PVC, they are fully sealed and have internal blinds.
The tent lacks mesh, as do the other tunnel-style models on this page, but there are no fewer than eight vents on the fly, so ventilation should not be an issue. In each room, there are several storage spaces as well as a power port. Please click on the link to read my full review.
8. Berghaus Telstar 8 Nightfall Air Tent

This tent has five rooms and a large porch with a detachable floor. As a result, it could also be described as a 6-room tent.
The inner floored area is enormous, measuring 273.4 ft2 (25.4 m2), while the outside area measures 101.2 ft2 (9.4 m2). The tent is pleasant and tall; three inner tents have dark rest-type bedrooms.
Because this is an inflatable tent, there are no solid poles. It is on my list of the best inflatable tents. There are also E-cable ports and reliable windows. The weight is 114.4 pounds (51.9 kilograms).
9. Ozark Trail Hazel Creek 20-Person Star Tent with Screen Room

This Ozark Trail Hazel Creek 20-Person Star Tent with Screen Room is one of the most outstanding tents on the marketplace, with 5 rooms plus a screen room and an unusual shape and size. This is why it is also on my list of screen tents.
The tent has 13 windows, 5 doors, 4 E-cable ports, and numerous place of storage pouches. The total area is 279 ft2 (26 m2), plus 61 ft2 (5.7 m2) for the vestibule. That is why it is included in my list of extra-large family camping tents. It is heavy, as expected, and weighs 60.2 lb (27.3 kg). You’ll be glad to know that it’s very reasonable.
10. Coleman Weathermaster 8XL Air BlackOut Tent

This tent is here due to its amazing framework, which includes 5 rooms and a fully enclosed entrance. So you have two inner tents, one with three bedrooms and detachable dividers and one without. You can remove the latter if you want more space in the living room. The front door is completely enclosed, giving the impression that it is the sixth room without a floor.
However, this is also known as the BlackOut tent, which means the bedrooms are dark rest type. It is claimed to block up to 99% of sunlight.
The tent is supported by inflatable beams rather than traditional poles, making it an excellent example of air beam technology. It’s on my list of the best dark rest tents. There are two doors and numerous solid and mesh windows here.
The outstanding ventilation features many low and high vents and mesh doors and windows. They claim that the tent can also handle temperature. There are numerous places for storage pouches as well as a cable port.
Here are some figures. The weight is 98 pounds (44.4 kilograms), and the floor area is 285 square feet (26.5 square meters). The porch adds 77.5 square feet (7.2 square meters). You have a peak height of 84.6 inches (215 cm) in the tent.
11. Vango Orava 600XL Tent

This tent has an ample floor space, 333 ft2 (31 m2) divided into 5 rooms. So you have three sleeping places: two inner tents and a living room. This piece has a sewn-in and sealed floor. But there is also the front room, which has ten PVC windows but no floor and is completely protected from the rain.
The tent’s official capacity is six people, but you’ve seen the surroundings. It comfortably seats 12 people. Even if 12 people use the tent, the big front room will accommodate all your gear.
The water-resistant rating for the shell is 4000 mm and much higher for the floor, but the poles are fiberglass, which is not ideal. There are three doors for entry and four interior doors. This is one of the priciest tents available. Please click on the link to learn more.
12. Outwell Vermont XLP Premium 7-Person Tent

The Vermont XLP 7-person tent is a true behemoth, with a total area of 371 ft2 (34.48 m2) in 5 rooms. This structure has approximately 20 PVC windows, steel poles, three entry doors, and four inner doors.
The water-resistant rating is impressive, with a shell tent water-resistant rating of 6000 mm and a floor water-resistant rating of 10000 mm. All entries have a double-layer design with mesh and panels for air circulation and protection.
The tent has a built-in closet, approximately 20 storage compartments, multiple cable points of entry, and tinted windows with shutters. If that isn’t sufficient, there’s also a thermo-reflective coating and a dark rest design. However, the tent is large, bulky, and costly. Please click on the link to learn more.
Final Thoughts
This list of the best 5-room camping tents is relatively short due to the scarcity of tents of this type on the market. However, it will be updated regularly, and new tents will be added over time, so bookmark this page and return.
