- 4 Rooms.
- The fabric is made of polycotton.
- Beams that can be inflated.
- Windows 6+2.
- 3 Doors.
- Cable-port.
What exactly is the Berghaus Air 6XL Polycotton Tent all about?
This tent is a polycotton version of their other synthetic tent, which has been on the market for a while. So you’re looking at a 65% polyester and 35% cotton fabric. Because these materials are strong and relatively heavy, the tent makes significantly less sound when windy.
The tent is a typical tunnel-shaped structure; its floor plan is shown in the image below.

You have an inner tent within the shell, the darker region on the right in the image above. This sleeping area has two removable dividers that allow for various bedroom arrangements.
The inner rooms are spacious and long enough to fit two people. You can see how they look in the image below.

A large living room with many windows and a fully sewn-in and closed floor is in front of the inner tent. Look how impressive this is:

It’s worth noting that the inner tent has its floor and the shell’s floor beneath it. Removing the inner tent allows for one massive room when it comes to rooms. If you remove the dividers, you will have two rooms, but you can also have three or four rooms.
In addition, there is a partially protected porch in front with windows and a roof. Because of these features, I’ve included this tent in my list of the best tents with four rooms and the best canvas tents with porches.
The tent is quite tall, with a peak height of 86.6 inches (220 cm) on the central axis in the center. This means that most of the tent is at a standing height.
Beams of air
There are no solid poles in this area. You are supported by 5 long, powerful TPU air beams. The image with the floor plan above indicates their location by yellow lines.
Each beam is loaded with springs quick-release air valves for simple deflation at the touch of a button. Access points to the valves are located on the sides, as shown in the image below of the side doors. A 2-way double efficiency stirrup pump with a gauge is included.
Even the awnings above the side doors have air beams, as seen here, to ensure a dry entry:

The windows and doors
The tent has three large doors, one deep beneath the porch, a full-size mesh, and a panel. Check out how it looks:

The side doors have solid windows, but a full-size zippered mesh also exists. The image below depicts these side doors on opposite sides.

There are four large windows in the living area, two on the porch and two on the side doorways. They are all solid, transparent structures. All of the solid windows in the living room have shutters for privacy.
Storage components
This is yet another fantastic feature. Storage bags are in various locations, including two between the inner doors, some under the windows, and storage pockets inside the bedrooms. Take a look at the images:

Materials
The shell fabric has already been discussed. The floor appears to be polyester, but there is no information on its rating. They claim these are fully fire-retardant materials tested to European EN 5912 safety standards.
The inner tent is made of a ventilated polyester material. The material has been darkened to reduce early morning light, but this is not a dark rest tent. Other details and features include:
- A comprehensive set of steel pegs, stakes, and guylines.
- Electric zipped access points on both sides of the tent and Velcro tidying to route the cable to a top lantern point.
- Repair kit and valve tightener.
- A sturdy wheeled carry bag with adjustable buckles and a large top zipper shaped like a U.

Ventilation
Ventilation is nearly ideal for a tunnel-style tent here. You’ve heard about its three large mesh doors. So you can have as much ventilation as possible when the sky is clear.
There are also numerous high vents on all sides of the tent, as seen below, with the rear vents and one side vents. Unfortunately, there are no floor vents in the living room.

Who is it intended for?
Regarding the area:
The size of the area is determined by how you use the tent. When the inner tent is removed, you have more total space. When the inner tent is in place, a gap exists between it and the shell, which takes up some space.
In any case, this is a vast area. The shell tent has a total floor area of 244 ft2 (22.7 m2). The tent is officially designed for six people. This equates to 40.7 ft2 (3.8 m2) per person. There aren’t many tents that can compete with this. I included the tent in my list of extra-large family camping tents.
It is worth noting that the living room alone is approximately 129 ft2 (12 m2) and is fully protected. As a result, the tent can easily accommodate at least 12 people if necessary. The porch provides an additional 48.4 ft2 (4.5 m2).
This is an excellent shelter for a large group of friends at a summer festival and a great option for families with children.
In terms of seasons and climate:
This tent will perform admirably in any season and environment. They do not provide a waterproof rating; instead, they simply state that the tent is completely waterproof.
I don’t believe there is such a thing as a completely waterproof tent. The water-resistant evaluation of such polycotton tents is usually low but very dependable. You have expanding thread seams, meaning the stitching extends after being wetted/condensed to improve future waterproofing. The cotton threads in the fabric are the same way.
The tent is well-ventilated, making it an excellent choice for warm-weather camping. However, if you are in a cold environment, you can close all its openings.
The beams are unbreakable. They may bend under intense wind pressure but instantly return to their original shape when the pressure drops. Despite its size, the tent should perform well even in windy conditions.
Regarding the weight:
This is a cumbersome structure with a weight of 108.5 lb (49.2 kg). This is partly due to its enormous size, inflatable beams, and the cotton used in the fabric.
Packed dimensions:
Packed dimensions are 37.8 x 23.6 x 21.7 inches (96 x 60 x 55 cm). As a result, the tent is only suitable for locations with easy access by car.
